Cornerstone continues momentum in higher education with signing of Georgia's flagship university
SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Sept. 15, 2017 — Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ:CSOD), a global leader in cloud-based learning and human capital management software, today announced that the University of Georgia has selected the company’s learning solutions to support its growing research enterprise. Cornerstone’s learning solutions will eventually be available to more than 50,000 users, including students, faculty and administrators, to support ongoing professional development as well as enhance regulatory compliance and safety culture.
An American public research university and one of the nation’s “Public Ivies,” the University of Georgia is the state’s oldest, most comprehensive and most diversified institution of higher education. It is recognized for its commitment to student excellence and providing hands-on learning experiences both in and out of the classroom, as well as a variety of research and leadership opportunities. The university focuses its research on three main areas: improving human health, safeguarding and sustaining the world, and changing lives through the land-grant mission.
In fiscal year 2017, the university’s total research and development expenditures reached an all-time high of $458 million, a 31 percent increase since fiscal year 2013. This upward trend in research and development prompted the university to look for a learning management system that could support the institution’s tremendous growth and learning needs
The University of Georgia signed with Cornerstone in the second quarter of 2017 and is currently in implementation.
This agreement, in addition to Cornerstone’s recent signing of Boston College, demonstrates Cornerstone’s continued momentum in higher education. The University of Georgia joins Cornerstone’s growing community of higher education clients, including the University of Southern California, Ohio State University, Sam Houston State University, Valencia College, Full Sail University and Alamo Colleges, among others.
Announced earlier this year, Cornerstone is expanding the Cornerstone Learning suite’s deep functionality of compliance and certifications, instructor-led training, blended learning, collaborative learning and “push and pull” development, to provide new digital learning capabilities that will create a more personalized learning experience for individuals. New features will include an enhanced “Netflix-style” user experience, curated content and learning paths, learning playlists, expert and peer collaboration, and credit for informal learning. Cornerstone’s new, comprehensive approach to learning will be able to better address the needs of both universities and their learners.
